Lab Technician

Pryor Giggey Co., a leading refractory manufacturer, is seeking a technician for their research and development lab in Anniston, Alabama. The lab technician will perform various tests under the direction of the research manager or engineer in accordance with ASTM standards, such as raw material evaluation, post mortem analysis, and in service product simulations. They will be required to compile data into reports and communicate results to upper management, engineering, and plant personnel. The position requires periodic lifting of fifty pounds or more.

The successful applicant will posses the following qualifications:
High school diploma (two years of college or technical school preferred)
Excellent math skills
Ability to work unsupervised
Practical laboratory experience in ceramics or materials a plus
Comfortable with analytical methods and ASTM procedures
Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, adaptability to specific testing programs)
