Tax Deduction

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Chamber Ambassadors –  To promote Chamber Membership and Services while fostering member relationships with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity.

The Ambassador program consists of enthusiastic volunteers from the Chamber membership who donate their time to help build member commitment and raise community awareness of Chamber activities and benefits. $25 annual participation fee.

Expo – This committee is responsible for organizing our annual Business Expo, which includes up to 100 trade fair booths. More than 1500 people attend each year and vote for their favorite booth. This event also includes the Taste of Calhoun County and awards are given to participating restaurants in several different categories. 

Military & Security Affairs – Military and Security Affairs Committee (MSAC) Mission: The Military and Security Affairs Committee (MSAC) shall have one single purpose: To preserve, protect and promote the Armed Forces and Homeland Security Resources of the United States of America through active support of the local military and governmental organizations, missions and people.

The committee will offer familiarization, education, training, demonstrations, documentation, marketing and socialization with Calhoun County’s military and security affairs resources to the businesses and residents of this area, including County, State and Federal officials. Additionally, we will be developing strategies and programs to ensure we fully appreciate their contributions and maintain and grow their ranks and maintain constant communication with our Congressional Delegation to continue their support. $50 annual participation fee.

Partners in Education – Partners in Education is a group of Chamber members, local government representatives, and administrators from every school in the county. This committee shares ideas and looks for ways to promote and strengthen education within our community. Members of this committee help with everything from finding job shadowing opportunities for high schoolers, mentoring elementary and middle school kids, participating in career fairs and school club days, organizing hands on efforts for schools such as clean up days, and even serving as a part of our speaker’s bureau list.

Public Affairs – The Chamber’s Public Affairs Committee’s purpose is to represent and be a proactive voice for the members and the overall business community with all levels of government in order to improve and sustain a positive business climate.

The Chamber’s advocacy efforts develop methods to influence policies in job creation, workforce development, education, small business advocacy, and adequate health care. Empowering our membership through regular interaction with county and state legislators keeps them abreast of current legislation at local, state, and federal levels in the state and encourages both the community and the chamber members to mobilize to become a part of the democratic process. These efforts aid in ensuring accountability to the residents and business owners in Calhoun County and stimulating growth in all aspects of our community. 

Salute to Industry – This committee is responsible for recognizing local industries and their contributions to Calhoun County. The committee also organizes an annual golf tournament, held in September of each year. 

Small Business – This committee organizes our annual Small Business Awards and works to promote Shop Local each fall.
